The Power Systems Sales Engineer is responsible for selling all represented power products and DVL services in the Utah market once technical training is complete. Represented manufacturers and products include Busway, Busduct and switchgear products, Russelectric and Vertiv, and complimentary lines. The Sales Engineer works with the Territory Sales Manager on accounts consisting of end-users, targeted end-users, consulting engineers, electrical contractors, and construction managers. WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
- Gain knowledge & application of single-phase and three-phase UPS Systems, power distribution systems, low voltage switchgear (switchboard, panelboard, etc.), with general understanding of IT related products (rack enclosures, rack power distribution strips, monitoring software) by participating in technical training
- Learn all applicable services offered by represented manufacturers and DVL
- Learn Power Systems and can present such to customers of varying technical knowledge
- Learn how to configure rack-based power distribution and monitoring systems and can present such to customers of varying technical knowledge
- Become competent in inspecting site installations and identifying critical components in the power distribution system. In time, be confident in the operation of such components and be capable of describing operating characteristics to involved parties
- Nurture and develop end-user customers, contractors, and partners by demonstrating the ability to create unique and beneficial solutions offered by DVL
- Become able to create and deliver persuasive strategic and technical presentations that provide DVL a competitive advantage in the market
- Learn channel project registration process as well as key relationships with all related manufacturer sales associates
- Become able to qualify a sales opportunity and talk with different audiences, appropriately adjust technical content to meet different audience knowledge and interest
- Learn how to handle customer objections by determining the real business problem, articulating our ability to solve their problems, and finding creative solutions
- Train to position our products against the competition
- Learn how to aggressively find and secure new business
- Professionally represent DVL in territory events, professional organizations, and industry conferences
- Consistent collaboration and teamworking with all departments to ensure customer satisfaction
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- Electrical Engineering or other Engineering degree required to communicate in engineering terms with customers/engineers
- Experience or interest in technical sales selling electrical products and services
- Familiarity of commercial building Power Systems
- Ability to technically communicate with all levels of a customer account including the executive levels
- Able to initiate a sales project from development to closure
- Good listening skills and the desire to solve complex technical problems
- High level of the Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Valid Driver License required to drive to customer sites

The pay range is $70,000 - $100,000 salary draw plus annual car allowance and unlimited commission potential based on relevant experience
