- Utilize safe working habits in all aspects of the job.
- Must be willing to work out of town, overtime and weekends as needed.
- Must comply with all DOT regulations, including maintaining and completing daily log books, inspections, etc.
- Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps, and applied failure analysis.
- Determines re-usability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar re-usability guidelines.
- Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at time of order.
- Tests, measures, and adjusts gas engine, power generation and related components.
- Prepares, inspects and operates gas engines prior to completion.
- Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
- Prepares accurate and complete service reports timely.
Required Qualifications:
- Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance always adhering to company policy.
- At least 5-6 years of Field Service Technician troubleshooting and repair skills of natural gas and diesel engines, and power generation
- Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with customers and employees in a professional manner.
- Must have own tools.
- Ability to be productive by working efficiently and effectively with high energy level.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must have a clean and valid commercial driver's license.
- Maintain Field Service truck and company provided tooling and equipment.
- Have and maintain a clean MVR.
