As the Power Plant Multi-craft Crew Chief you will serve as a working Crew Chief, multi-craft (instrumentation and electrical) and (Maintenance) crews. You will provide day-to-day planning, scheduling, training and oversight with an emphasis on safety and plant reliability. Serve as subject mater expert in all facets of Multi-Craft scope. This position will estimate, plan and direct work for crew of Mechanical Maintenance and I&E, and generate required reports, schedules, participate in an provide input to supervisor on issues of long range planning and forecasting. Take the lead in performing replacement, installation, repair, preventative maintenance for all Power Plant equipment. You will serve as backup to your direct Supervisor in the event of absence. This position will be on 24 hour emergency call-back and a regular on-call rotation requiring availability during that time and cell phone/pager contact with the Plant." You may be required to work overtime.
Education and Experience:
- High School Degree or GED
- Five (5) - Seven (7) years of relevant experience in maintenance, and/or industrial electrical, controls, instrumentation, and calibration
- Valid driver license
Skills Needed:
- Must have the ability to:
- interpret blueprints, schematics, loop diagrams, process and Instrumentation drawings
- operate a variety of test and calibration equipment , including (but not limited to), gas analyzers, process calibrators, digital multimeters, ammeters, power supplies, signal analyzers and waveform generators
- utilize computer to generate reports, and work with computerized maintenance management system ( SAP )
- Knowledge of pneumatic and electronic controllers and the ability to install pneumatic tubing, instrumentation, electrical equipment, writing and piping required
- Must be able to work from heights up to 100 feet
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines required
- Demonstrated ability to work without close oversight in a regulatory compliance environment required Working knowledge of National Electrical code a plus
- Must be able to:
- work in a variety of conditions such as confined space and in hot and cold conditions
- work in a high pressure environment and to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing)
- lift and carry 50 to 80 pounds frequently, and up to 100 plus pounds occasionally
- Working knowledge of programable logic controls a plus
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory and project management experience
- Demonstrate of shop mathematics, technical manuals and precision equipment
