Description of Job
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is Full-time, and is Hybrid (Remote/Home Office w/requirement to report to Work location per business needs),
  • Office hours are typically Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm
  • Extended hours during the evening or the weekend may be required by business needs
  • 5% Travel required within Denver Metro/Downtown for Meetings/Training
  • 5% Travel Within the State of Colorado (outside the Denver Metro area)
  • A Remote (Home) office is required
  • Required to report to the work location per business needs

    • SEDENTARY/Office environment:
      • Required to sit, view a computer screen, and utilize a keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time
      • Required lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, walking, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Specialist oversees programming that helps to prepare students for the next step in their educational and life pathway. This position will manage the Career Development Success Program, otherwise known as CDIP, and the Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH).
The CDIP program incentives school districts, charter schools, and BOCES that participate in work-based learning opportunities, such as industry-recognized certifications, apprenticeships and internships by reimbursing them per completed eligible student experience. P-TECHs are programs/schools that prepare students for high-potential careers in industry as they graduate with a high school diploma, an industry-recognized associate degree, and work-based learning experiences. The P-TECH partnership is between a school district, a community college(s), and one or more local high growth industry employer(s).
The final salary is anticipated to fall within the posted salary range, however could be higher or lower depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other qualifications of the preferred candidate while considering internal equity.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee procedures and processes, and manage the implementation and coordination of the CDIP program, with a focus on outreach to expand equitable CDIP participation in the state.
Oversee procedures and processes, and manage the implementation and coordination of P-TECHs.
Collaborate with the Colorado Department of Education's (CDE) Information Management Services unit to align data reporting requirements for multiple Office of Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness programs.
Lead oversight of CDE's Data Pipeline reporting system.
Review state statute and State Board of Education rules to produce documents relating to requirements of CDIP and P-TECH.
Compile and analyze participant self-reported data and create annual reports for CDIP, P-TECH, and other PWR programs as requested by the supervisor.
Serve as liaison to partner agencies, vendors, and other constituents related to CDIP and P-TECH.
Develop written correspondence, documents, reports and program related materials for internal and external audiences related to CDIP and P-TECH.
Monitor local education providers and BOCES to ensure program compliance with CDIP and P-TECH.
Plan and execute technical assistance, training, webinars, presentations, and professional learning related to CDIP and P-TECH.
Initiate, develop and implement (in coordination with CDE's communication team) creative options for communicating promising practices to the K-12 districts and charter schools.
Collaborate with department offices, state, and federal agencies related to CDIP and P-TECH.
Comply with all department, state, partner, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Develop application documents that meet statutory requirements.
o Make changes to applications and other documents based on feedback from the field.
o Review applications to determine if complete, what is missing.
o Decide on whether budgetary or other grant requests are allowable per statutory and other state guidelines and requirements.
o Decide on how to collect and distribute Personally Identifiable Information while adhering to state law.
o Develop reporting tools based on statutory and other state guidelines.
Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
OR Four (4) years of professional experience in a relevant field involving work-based experiences in partnership with K-12, Career and Technical Education, or Concurrent Enrollment.
Competency and Qualification Requirements:
At least three years of experience in K-12 education, higher ed, or work-based learning programs.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Time management skills- Multiple projects have different timelines and responsibilities- must be able to remain organized with time constraints.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects at one time.
In-depth knowledge of state government processes and procedures and ability to navigate within them.
Excellent analytical skills, especially regarding program-related data.
Ability to interpret statutory data reporting requirements and implement technical solutions to accomplish them.
Ability to interpret and implement state statute and State Board of Education rules.
Ability to use multiple technological tools to support the field (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, survey tools, Syncplicity).
Ability to work closely with a team and to work independently to develop and maintain large
programs and projects.
Ability to collaborate with multiple different internal and external stakeholders (industry
representatives, technical assistance providers different CDE offices/units).
Experience with work-based learning programs.
Ability and willingness to travel.
The ability to pass a background check, which includes a motor vehicle records search.
Ability to communicate and present or provide training to a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of educational systems within the state of Colorado.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with technology systems and software, including webinar platforms, Microsoft Office products, and Google Drive.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in both secondary and postsecondary educational settings
Experience with work-based learning and other programs
Experience with working with industry partners.
The duties of this position may require occasional travel. A valid driver's license is required.
