We seek a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Drs. Tatyana Deryugina and David Molitor in conducting health and environmental research at the Center for Business and Public Policy (CBPP) at Gies College of Business, University of Illinois, starting in fall 2024.
The position is funded by a National Institutes of Health grant to measure environmental impacts on human health. The successful candidate will be an integral part of this agenda. The postdoc will also join a vibrant community of other applied economics faculty and postdoctoral scholars at Illinois Gies.
This is a full-time, one-year appointment that is renewable annually.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in economics or related field by the start of the position.
• Advanced training in econometrics and related empirical methods.
• Strong programming knowledge of Stata, R, Python, SQL, Julia, C++, or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Medicare data or other large administrative data sets.
- Geospatial skills, including experience with GIS software and geospatial data analysis.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Research priorities will be set in conversation with Drs. Deryugina and Molitor.
- Perform analysis with large datasets, including spatial, environmental, and Medicare data.
- Contribute to the overall goals of the grant, including grant-related public goods.
- Actively participate in the intellectual life at Illinois Gies and CBPP.
- Work to promote teamwork, diversity, equality, and inclusiveness.
Working Conditions: Office environment in Champaign, Illinois
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week
