POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: POP Coordinator HIV Prevention and EducationProgram Lead
(FT 35 Hours a week, some weekends and evenings required)
Reports To: TINGS Program Manager and Executive Director
POSITION SUMMARY
Galaei, a QTBIPOC radical social justice organization, program partner of the Urban Affairs
Coalition. The POP Prevention and Education Lead Coordinator provides support for QTBIPOC,
Cis-Gender Heterosexual Black and Brown folx, and Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSM) of
Philadelphia through one-on-one counseling, prevention, linkage to care, gender and sexual
health education, as well as group events, community events, and outdoor/street outreach.
Administratively the HIV Prevention and Education Program Lead manages all operations of the
POP program up to but not limited to timely and accurate submissions of data to the TINGS
Program Manager, client file management, general facility organization, timely and accurate
submissions of group, events, and outreach proposals.
POP Coordinator HIV Prevention and EducationProgram Lead also sets guide posts in
collaboration with programmatic staff to ensure programming is priority focused on PLHIV and
communities under resourced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and provides strategic solutions.
Works with the team to help set and meet daily and quarterly goals.
Plays a significant role in long-term planning, programmatic implementation, and implementing
change control processes.
Works closely with the Executive Director on other special planning and departmental projects.
Supports reporting on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics.
Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.
Collaborates with other team members to ensure seamless business execution, reinforce positive
morale, and uphold company values.
Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves issues of medium complexity
involving stakeholders and escalate to appropriate level when required.
Assesses a variety of situations and provide clarity to team and stakeholders.
Establishes and maintains credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines,
and external vendors.
Solicits and responds to feedback while gaining commitment and support.
Stays up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology.
PROGRAMMATIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and facilitate HIV 101-301 workshops, tailored to age, and audience
Facilitate and Report group events, workshops, trainings, gender and HIV curriculums of all ages
Provide one on one sessions with clients enrolled
Maintain client charts including documentation of all delivered services and sessions conducted.
Organizing tasks and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
Complete and assist in routine administrative duties including filing, shredding, collating, stocking,
recording results, supply inventory, and other operational duties, such as conducting daily
computer data entries
Actively participate in weekly supervision, program meetings, clinical supervision and agency
meetings as scheduled
Participate in organization-wide events
Responsible for occasional local travel as needed by clients
Participating in organization mandated events
Develop innovative solutions to improve community member outcomes.
Communicate with community members about project, event, or campaign planning, expectations
and goals.
Collaborate with community members, other organizations, and team members within the
organization
Complete other duties as assigned.
MAJOR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
Experience working with QTBIPOC Communities (preferred)
Must be able to work in diverse populations of people and prove effective outreach to the target
population
Must be able to work individually and as part of a team, demonstrate mutual respect for
coworkers and be committed to working from a sex-positive and social, racial and economic
justice perspective.
Exhibits a high degree of maturity, trustworthiness, and integrity
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to facilitate groups
Must be organized, able to work under pressure, dynamic, creative, and self-motivated.
Must be detailed oriented and take initiative in carrying out tasks to
conclusion
Must be experience in Microsoft Office and Google Suites
Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Must be able to obtain all child abuse clearances.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
