Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle rust treatment/Undercoating Technician to join our team. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning off existing rust, pulling vehicle pannels and lights apart withut damaging vehicles, applying undercoating to critical areas and re installing all hardware properly. Vehicles are then hand washed after service, tagged and retured to the customer. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and extreme attention to detail.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
-Remove excess rust from vehicles using grinders, needle scalers, wire brushes etc.
-Treat excess rust with chemicals and wear all protective gear to ensure safety.
-Do thorough undercoating jobs on vehicles and have knowledge of how to tear apart pannels, lights etc to acess areas to get undercoating n critical areas and re install panels without damage of any kind to vehicles.
-Keep shop clean,organized
-Be able to keep track of product usage and keep projects within time limits
-MUST HAVE EXTREME ATTENTION TO DETAiL
-wash vehicles after each service.
Be able to work on a PART TIME AS NEEDED BASIS (5 hours minimum per day worked)
- Keep accurate records of all work performed on vehicles
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repairs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills
Skills:
- Public speaking: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients or team members
- Educate: Ability to educate clients on proper vehicle maintenance practices
- Data collection: Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data related to vehicle performance and maintenance history
- Motivational interviewing: Skill in using motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients to follow recommended maintenance schedules
- Social work: Knowledge of social work principles that can be applied in client interactions
