Position Summary:
The Pool Team Leader will report directly to Front Desk Manager.
Core responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and maintaining the pool areas. Pool Attendants are in direct contact with guests daily and must maintain a strong hospitality centric spirit in accordance with DMI values. Pool attendants are responsible for maintaining order and providing a safe environment for guests in the pool area. Assists in directing and coordinating operations at the pool and fitness areas.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee the pool area and maintain inventory of all poolside equipment for guests.
- Sets up chairs and umbrellas.
- Skims pools.
- Cleans and maintains pool equipment, pool and surrounding areas.
- Checks for any damage to pool equipment and reports said damage to Supervisor.
- Removes any broken or damaged pool furniture.
- Distributes towels to guests.
- Ensures the safety of both the pool staff and Resort owners/guests.
- Assists in planning and developing procedures to improve operations.
- Enforces all Resort and State policies, rules and regulations.
- Recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies.
- Assists with coordinating training and development.
- Monitors and records water conditions (temperature, clarity and pH levels readings).
- Inspects the pool and surrounding areas; reports unsafe conditions to manager.
- Plans and develops procedures to improve operations within the department.
- Makes recommendations on inventory to management.
- Responds to calls and questions from owners, guests and departments.
- Ensures daily log is complete.
- Cover for call outs, oversee schedule and designate pool stations.
- Follow up with pending maintenance issues with dispatch and maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist in supervising pool staff members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Resort, State and Federal policies. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, training & terminating employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employees’ addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Position Requirements (Skills/Abilities):
Experience:
- One year of hospitality-related experience or pool attendant lead/supervisory experience. Timeshare or Resort experience highly desirable. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; communicate effectively at all levels; and demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve problems. Bilingual skills a plus.
- First Aid, CPR and CPO certifications preferred
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Flexible Scheduling: Must be able to work Evenings, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
