POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Aquatics Director or Pool supervisor and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Pool Attendant is responsible for monitoring outdoor pool gate, verifying memberships and ensuring guests have checked in at the front desk during outdoor pool hours, administers First Aid, exercises control of the slide dispatch areas and maintains all safety and sanitation procedures according to the policies of the Upper Palmetto Aquatics Departments and State Swimming Pool Operations Codes. The Pool Attendant will assist the Aquatic Director and lead aquatics staff with various branch activities such as special events, and other activities that occur on various occasions.
Principle Activities:
- Greet all members and public with a smile
- Control members entering the outdoor pool gate
- Keep pool desk/area clean and clutter free
- Communicate with the front desk staff
- Enforce all of the facility's policies, rules and regulations
- Completes records and reports regarding patron attendance, swim testing, incidents and accidents
- Maintain effective relationships with the members, participants and other staff
- Participate in all staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Conduct aquatic facility maintenance as assigned
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Current certification in the following...
- Professional CPR
- First Aid
- Blood Borne Pathogens
- AED
- 02 (If you do not currently have this certification, must obtain within 30 days of hire or at first available training.)
- General clerical and computer skills
- Ability to communicate with people of all levels
- Must present a professional, mature image, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have a positive attitude and desire to achieve the mission of the Upper Palmetto YMCA.
Physical Requirements:
