- Briefing a diverse set of policy and research actors that are looking to better understand AI safety and AI policy opportunities
- Convening diverse stakeholders and speaking at policy events such as research announcements, discussion panels, or workshops on AI safety topics
- Supporting senior colleagues in external engagements by preparing meeting briefs and taking action on follow-up requests
- Developing new programming and generating opportunities for Anthropic to regularly engage with policymakers, think tanks, and non-profit organizations
- Collaborating with policy and technical teams to translate Anthropic research into concrete policy proposals, stakeholder education, and thought leadership opportunities
- Developing and amplifying public submissions, responses to requests for information (RFI), and policy memos written by Anthropic to drive positive change in AI policy
- Partnering with non-profit organizations and academic researchers to publish discussion papers and policy memos on how to enable responsible AI research & development
- Tracking and monitoring significant policy, legislative, legal, or regulatory developments in the assigned areas of responsibility, with a particular focus on state and local policy developments

- Have deep expertise studying or crafting state and/or local laws, e.g., via past legal or legislative roles at prior employers
- Have an established track record of working in the technology industry
- Have 5+ years public policy experience in tech, government, or both
Annual Salary (USD)
- The expected salary range for this position is $230,000 - $260,000.

Equity - On top of this position's salary (listed above), equity will be a major component of the total compensation. We aim to offer higher-than-average equity compensation for a company of our size, and communicate equity amounts at the time of offer issuance.

This compensation and benefits information is based on Anthropic’s good faith estimate for this position as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. Employees based outside of the UK or US will receive a different benefits package. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including where you place on our internal performance ladders, which is based on factors including past work experience, relevant education, and performance on our interviews or in a work trial.
