About the position:
The Policy and Planning Senior Program Coordinator position in the Strategy Branch within the Public Health Division is responsible for a wide-range of division-level systems and Planning processes that support Washington County as a modern, equity-centered local public health authority. This role oversees and coordinates the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP); collaborates in county, department, and division legislative planning; and leads and supports community-based and policy-level initiatives. Additionally, this role coordinates planning for public health policies and use of public health law to protect and improve the health of our community to achieve health equity, including coordinating analysis of the impacts of policies on the public's health.

The ideal candidate will have the skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners to promote health equity. They are knowledgeable and experienced in the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive strategies to advance policies, programs, and community health initiatives. They have experience leading and coordinating effective meetings and processes. They have knowledge, skills, and abilities in analysis and evaluation of policies and procedures, local and state lawmaking processes, and role of advocacy for local government. They will be self-motivated and comfortable working independently as well as leading and supporting groups in the development of strategic vision, scope, mission that informs and engages multiple, diverse audiences.

Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in public health, public or health administration, or related health or science fields; AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible work experience in program administration, coordination, development, and/or planning. OR
- Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, or related health or science fields; AND five (5) years of increasingly responsible work experience in program administration, coordination, development, and/or planning. OR
- Nine (9) years of increasingly responsible work experience in program administration, coordination, development, and/or planning.
ADDITIONAL LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND SPECIALTY REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires the completion of a criminal history check post offer.
