Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- O.P.O.T.A Certified
- Valid Ohio O.L.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 21 years of age
- Felony convictions and disqualifying criminal convictions not accepted
Responsibilities:
- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public safety and order
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary
- Write detailed reports on incidents, investigations, and arrests
Skills:
- Valid State of Ohio Peace Officer certificate
- Knowledge of law enforcement principles, procedures, and techniques
- Excellent report writing skills to document incidents and investigations accurately
- Strong leadership abilities to take charge of situations and make critical decisions
- Proficient in criminal investigation techniques, including evidence collection and analysis
- Skilled in surveillance methods to monitor suspicious activities
- First aid and CPR certification to provide immediate medical assistance when needed
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively during law enforcement operations
