Electric Monster is a rapidly growing content creation studio founded in March of ‘21 that acquires and grows digital video brands in the general entertainment space. The team at Electric Monster is a diverse mix of ambitious digital video veterans and people looking to make their mark on our industry. As we continue to grow, we are in search of a Podcast Producer to join our talented team and help shape the future of digital content.

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative, passionate, and resourceful Podcast Producer & Editor with 2-4 years of experience and a proven track record of successful digital content production.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, pop culture junkie that can thrive in a fast paced creative environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to ideating, scripting, producing, directing, and editing 2x video podcast episodes per week. You also possess a background in independent video production from start to finish and an obsession with storytelling. It is pertinent that the Podcast Producer/Editor has an obsession and strong background with YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and is eager to bring both their knowledge and creative instincts to help shape REACT’s first podcast!

Topics will vary based on trends and audience interest which would include: Film & television, music, pop culture, video games, technology and emerging platforms.

Applicants MUST be comfortable interviewing and directing talent, as well as being on-camera from time to time.
This position is full-time, on-site, and reports directly into the REACT Creative Director. REACT productions are executed in our studios located in Burbank, CA. This role will work collaboratively with other Producers, Associate Producers on the REACT team, as well as other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pitch relevant and engaging topics for content production, staying attuned to current trends and audience interests.
  • Conduct in-depth research and write compelling scripts that captivate our audience.
  • Edit Podcast episodes, ensuring a cohesive and relevant editing style, and collaborate with Strategy for final delivery.
  • Manage the daily and weekly creative cadence schedules in coordination with Creative and Production teams to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Propose suitable talent for the episodes you pitch, considering their compatibility with the content, likability, and their ability to attract a large audience.
  • Oversee the physical production of shoots, including conducting talent interviews and ensuring a seamless production process.
  • Review and approve various assets, such as graphics and thumbnails.
  • Ensure the final exports meet our quality standards and resonate with the intended audience.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to enhance existing shows, series, and formats while contributing to the development of new formats.
  • Analyze content performance metrics to improve produced content particularly with regard to audience response, engagement, and growth.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the nuances of various social platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, etc.) and adapt content accordingly.
  • Successfully maintain multiple projects, while effectively managing time and other responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively in a dynamic and fun team environment, sharing creative ideas and problem-solving.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Maintain composure and lead by example during challenging times, demonstrating resilience and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Uphold Electric Monster's ethics and values while performing duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Film Production, Media, Communications, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an Podcast Producer or Producer level position, with a strong background in video production.
  • Must have a deep understanding of the elements of storytelling (three act structure, plot logic, tension/stakes, character development through-lines) with experience working across formats and narrative genres such as doc, feature mag, reality, books, audio, scripts.
  • Proficiency in video production equipment and software, including cameras, lighting, editing, and audio recording. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.) is essential.
  • A compelling drive to challenge yourself and consistently exceed expectations, coupled with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced production environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a willingness to contribute creative ideas, collaborate with team members, and communicate resource needs effectively.
  • Demonstrated strong ability in excellent time management, multitasking, and prioritization. Capable of working efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable appearing on-camera and guiding talent conversations during shoots.
  • A deep passion for and intimate knowledge of the social media space, with a keen understanding of platform-specific trends and audience behavior.
  • Awareness of YouTube culture, internet culture, pop culture, memes, and other relevant cultural phenomena.
  • Actively follow digital creators and consume online content daily to stay current with industry trends.

Base Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 DOE
