1. Performs underwriting tasks as determined by the supervising underwriter or manager, including new business screening, renewal and endorsement underwriting.
2. Refer business beyond delegated authority to supervising underwriter
3. Works with supervising underwriter or manager in processing and prioritizing business.
4. Rate new and renewal applications as required
5. Detail oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Ability to provide service and answer inquiries from internal customers through oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
7. According to their experience level, understands and explains coverages, rules, forms, and basis for pricing decisions.
8. Participate as needed in internal or external training.
9. Proficient in MS Office Software Applications.
10. Ability to interact with others in a professional manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCITONS:
1. High School Graduate. Some college education, a plus
2. Computer Literate
3. One-year insurance company experience
4. Good oral and written skills
5. Flexible/able to handle multitask assignments
6. Able to comprehend and carry out instructions
7. Detail oriented
8. ISO/NCCI knowledge – rating experience and coverage knowledge
9. Sit, stand, walk/ambulatory
10. Ability to lift 10 pounds
