POSITION TITLE: Plumber/General Maintenance/Groundsman
LOCATION: Cameron High/County
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Any applicant not currently employed by Marshall County Schools must show evidence of possessing a high school diploma or GED
2. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license
3. Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willing to obtain a CDL
4. Be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions
5. Willing to work a flexible schedule
6. Possess writing skills to be able to complete assigned written reports
7. Have ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with others
8. Exhibit a high moral character, a good physical appearance, and a cooperative, friendly personality
9. Pass state developed tests to indicate minimum competencies in each area of job classification as titled or hold/have held such title of employment with a county board of education
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Plumber
- Educate and set standards acceptable to Marshall County Board of Education for Plumber I
- Report to crew leader and/or supervisor of maintenance any defects discovered while working
- Keep his/her work area clean, safe, and sanitary for all to work in
- Follow all safety procedures for the job being performed
- Wear and use safety equipment at all times
- Perform supervisory functions, i.e. requisition, schedule and distribute supplies and materials; maintain files, service records, labor records, warranty records; follow up employee reports of problems or equipment failures, etc.
- Estimate materials
- Use climbing equipment
- Join pipe
- Install Hangers and supports
- Build water distribution lines and drains
- Install cleanouts and traps, vents, fixtures, hydronic heating systems
- Maintain plumbing systems
- Perform all other plumbing tasks assigned by the maintenance foreman.
General Maintenance
- Follow all standard procedures in making maintenance repairs
- Report to the crew leader and maintenance foreman any defects discovered while working on any projects
- Not knowingly repair with defective parts any vehicle or building and place it back into service
- Keep his/her work area and the maintenance shop clean, safe, and sanitary for all to work in
- Follow all safety procedures for the job being performed
- Wear and use safety equipment at all times
- Receive and store parts and supplies
- Complete work orders
- Coordinate workers with work to be done
- Requisition, schedule and distribute supplies and materials
- Estimate materials needed
- Lay, join and point brick
- Perform miscellaneous masonry work
- Sharpen tools
- Install rough framing, roof components, exterior finishes and interior finishes
- Use climbing equipment
- Prepare surfaces for finishing
- Finish surfaces
- Maintain structures
- Join pipe
- Install Hangers and supports
- Maintain outside environment
- Perform all other maintenance tasks as may be assigned by the maintenance foreman.
Groundsman
- Maintain all grounds owned by the Board of Education
- Report to maintenance foreman any defect or safety problem observed on the grounds
- Keep all work areas clean, safe, and sanitary for all to work in
- Follow all safety procedures for the job being performed
- Wear and use safety equipment at all times
- Perform all other tasks as may be assigned by the maintenance foreman.

EMPLOYMENT TERM: Employment term remaining based upon Board employment action. (Normal contract: 260 days, 8 hours per day, 6:00am to 2:00pm
