Job Title: PLC Automation Engineer

Location: Detroit, MI

Job Description:

1. Familiar with automated assembly processes
2. Have commissioned automation cells with robotic automation before
Responsibilities:
Connect to equipment with a PC.
Flash Firmware on control equipment.
Download software to control equipment.
Commission Ethernet/IP Fieldbus network
Validate the operation of safety equipment, including E-Stops, Gates, and Light Curtains
Teach Servos
Establish communications with third-party equipment such as cameras and welders.
Operate equipment via HMI control in manual mode.
o Communicate with the build team so the build team can correct build defects, including alignments, sensor positioning, and such
Operate equipment in dry cycle mode.
Support limited runs with product running through the machine.
Experience with the following Equipment SW Packages:
Read and Understand Electrical Schematics
RSLogix v32.
o Rockwell processors used for automation control.
o GuardLogix Safety Programming
Siemens TIA Portal WinCC v15.1
o Used for equipments HMIs
Ethernet/IP Fieldbus
Fanuc Robot Integration
o Fanuc programming background is not necessary, but being able to understand the PLC side of handshaking with the Fanuc controller is needed
Servo Applications
o Positioning of devices, Pick and Places
o Rockwell Kinetix 5700
Preferred:
Networking
o Commissioning of Hirschmann-managed Ethernet switches.
Vision
o Matrox Camera Systems
Familiarity with MES systems
o Customer has a proprietary system, a basic understanding of the principles behind an MES system is useful.
