How you'll make an impact:
Serve as a shift lead to ensure quality control of Sirius XM content for over 20,000 Play by Play broadcasts per year. Ensure schedules are set, checklists are followed by staff on shift, and all aspects of the live broadcast from start to finish are executed correctly.
What you'll do:
Work in our 24/7 operations centers to ensure successful live sports Play by Play broadcasts.
Supervise personnel on shift to ensure all workflows needed to successfully get live Play by Play broadcast on air.
Coordinate with board operators and board operator supervisors to ensure appropriate operation of games and transitions to other programming,
Collaborate with Sports Programming department to obtain information necessary for successful broadcasts.
Review schedules on an ongoing basis and set up automation systems in advance of broadcasts.
Complete scheduling requirements across multiple broadcast automation and scheduling systems.
Obtain connections and check provider feeds prior to broadcast.
Track time changes, cancellations or postponements and ensure schedule corrections propagate across multiple systems.
Perform thorough QC processes and assist with changes and fixes required prior to broadcast.
Document all issues in incident tickets.
Follow up on incident tickets that need further review, providing precise information on root cause, to negate repeat issues.
Cover shifts as needed due to absence or other PTO taken by staff.
Provide training to Individual Operators.
Assist in the development operations documentation ensuring all process and procedures are detailed to integrate any new systems, components, or broadcast requirements.
Work with management to ensure consistent processes, procedures and protocols are applied across all locations to facilitate a common operating environment for all staff members.
What you'll need:
5 years of Broadcast Operations experience with work in a leadership role
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Working on-site during weekends and holidays is required
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent telephone skills (eg. pleasant and helpful)
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to make quick informed decisions during times of uncertainty or last-minute requests
Familiarity with broadcast automation systems
Thorough understanding of digital audio routing systems
Technical knowledge of satellite, IPCODEC, MPLS, and other transmission technologies
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $85,000 to $130,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
