Job Description
The Plastics Engineer helps solve complex injection molding problems using scientific molding principles and also works with process techs and mold makers to continually improve molding processes plant wide.

Essential Functions- Participates in developing new part DFM’s
- Tracks changeover time and improves efficiency
- Utilizes mold flow software to optimize the molding process on new project as well as an ongoing improvement activity
- Maintains equipment as required
- Trains production personnel in areas of production processes and safety
- Coordinates with tool makers to solve molding concerns
- Ensures all operations are according to established safety rules and procedures
- Works with engineering and quality control to continuously improve products and processes
- Performs other duties that may be assigned
Required Work Experience:- 3 to 5 years
- Ability to read analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions
- Expertise in plastic injection molding and related equipment and procedures
- Ability to use computer software to record information about production material (Basic computer literacy)
- Experience using 3D CAD software and mold flow simulation software such Solidworks, Inventor, Moldex
- Attention to detail and time management skills are essential
- Understanding of formal scientific molding process training (RJG, Bozelli, Paulson, or similar)
Physical Demands and Work Environment- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasional required lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
- Frequently required standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to read applicable instructions
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.

Salary info:
$70000 - $80000 / hr
