ABOUT THE ROLE
The Plant Supervisor oversees and coordinates the nightshift operations within the underground and surface mine site, ensuring a cohesive split-shift unit consisting of union personnel, mine engineer, and plant support
staff, while being responsible for the safety, health, and environmental compliance of the site.
Directs the nightshift activities to ensure objectives are met: manages, through subordinate personnel, the various operations associated with the underground mining, primary processing, and maintenance. Plans, staffs
and supervises the work unit to ensure uninterrupted supply of primary surge stone to be available for the first shift secondary aggregate production team. The Plant Supervisor receives and communicates goals to
employees and ensures they are achieved. In addition, the Plant Supervisor maximizes employee participation to achieve the desired team approach and develops personnel to enhance skills, improve responsiveness and promote business growth.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Ensures that employees are at work on time, actively engaged in assigned department activities and conforming to established internal and external safety/environmental/compliance regulations to include MSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Provides immediate performance feedback as required to resolve employee conflicts, and assists in short-term resolution of emergency situations such as safety, attendance and conduct.
- Administers direct supervisory responsibilities for production, maintenance, including training, performance evaluation, corrective action, and work schedules.
- Responsible for participating in and/or facilitating meetings. Ensures that time and attendance for assigned employees is accurate in data collection system.
- Works with Foremen/Lead men and others to ensure that goals are achieved. Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of assignments. Coordinates and executes established activities to ensure that goals are met.
- Works with various support functions to resolve production problems and assists in troubleshooting.
- Provides feedback on equipment operation and production effectiveness.
- Recommends and/or implements various production processes and programs.
- Responsible for completing production reports pertaining to production Key Performance Indicators, employee performance/conduct and process flow. Responsible for monitoring efficiency and throughput, and inventories of critical spare parts and consumables to ensure the readiness of the processing and mobile equipment and ensuring the workforce is supplied with all PPE and tools needed to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Participates in budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and project management needed for achieving the desired objectives.
- Plans, schedules, and monitors all work being performed and creates performance related reports to be available for the oncoming shift.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
Additional Education Preferred: Associate's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Mine engineering, Production, Maintenance, Industrial Management and/or Business Management
Required Training/Certifications: Current MSHA
Licenses Preferred: Driver
Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office, SAP and Ariba experience preferred .
Travel Requirements: Local

Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
