The Role:
Our site in Aurora is seeking a 2ndShift Supervisor to join our team.
The Pilot Plant 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for one or more Pilot Plant functions and sustaining activities. Functions include responsibility for manufacturing CMP polishing slurries in small quantities to support internal development, customer sampling, and process development. Sustaining activities include, inventory control, routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment and instrumentation, developing and updating department systems and processing ERP batch transactions. Hours worked may vary based on business needs and engaging team peers daily.
What You'll Do:

• Execute routine/sequential tasks using detailed work instructions to manufacture lab or pilot scale slurries, such as: storage, handling and use of chemicals; routine physical property measurements; operation of standard unit operations (mixers, pumps, filters); timely & accurate documentation of results.
• Execute sophisticated tasks based upon detailed or general instructions. Use good judgment to recognize and address deviations from standards, and equipment calibration to assure a high degree of accuracy and consistency in experimental results.
• Follow established procedures and comply with standard systems to order, receive, handle, store, and ship materials as well as maintain equipment and instrumentation. Verify and calibrate equipment as appropriate.
• Adhere to all EH&S guidelines and policies within the company and maintain personal safety within the workplace, Complies with workspace PPE requirements. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Maintaining strong housekeeping, orderly work environment, and compliance to ISO and quality standards, may serve as document control approver
• Adjusts shift priorities and tasks for the Pilot Plant associates according to the production schedule and confirm shift reports
• Ensure proper batch startups and closures by assisting associates with any manufacturing concerns using business applications
• Perform tasks related to planning, procurement, budgeting, new material number creation workflow alignment support, and warehouse management which includes routine inventory cycle counting, adjustment, and control
• Perform DIW and Wastewater System checks and emergency response
• Lead and/or support Pilot Plant continuous improvement projects

• Own the reporting shift performance as measured by key performance indicators including cascading goal setting, coaching, training, developing and feedback
• Train and coach new associates on processes and procedures to achieve required first year certifications
• Checks payroll system shift punch times, and time off requests, for reporting team associates in accordance with the department attendance policy
• Provide technical expertise and shift support on production processes to resolve issues, and limit disruptions to manufacturing during troubleshooting
• Identify and assist in the resolution of process OOC conditions while coordinating with the team manager and engineering team to suggest solutions as needed
• Support shift overtime activities on weekdays and/or weekends according to business needs

• Strong solid understanding of inventory control, production planning, team coordination, quality minded with strong customer focus
• Ability to frequently multi-task as well as a contributor in a team environment In-depth understanding and knowledge of EH&S regulations
• Effective problem solving with emphasis in customer service environments
• Proven understanding of equipment and instrumentation.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic laboratory and pilot scale equipment and instrumentation.
• Flexible and adaptable to variable schedule changes
• Ability to drive Forklift to assist with team manufacturing needs
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Applications, ERP systems (SAP), Sample Manager LIMS Software
• Effective oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• High school diploma or equivalent with 3-year proven experience in a manufacturing environment

• Bachelors Degree is a plus
• Six Sigma experience and/or certification

Opening for 2nd Shift:

• Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm (overtime may be required, as per business needs)
• Weekend shifts will vary when needed.
• We care about cleanliness, and the use of PPE. PPE includes - steel toe shoes (provided by us), safety glasses. Additional PPE required for certain job functions, such as full-face mask.
