About the Role:

Responsible for monitoring and operating all equipment utilized in the refinery process. The Plant Operator will take proactive measures to ensure the plant is maintained in a safe condition and operating smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Operates a computerized Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) to control and monitor the flow and chemical processing
• Verifies the SCADA system is working correctly and that the data is accurate through testing
• Maintains an intimate working knowledge of plant equipment, system, process, and SCADA failure modes to ensure proper plant operation when abnormal situations occur
• Observe all written operational procedures, monitor all equipment and processes to ensure operating parameters are within defined operating ranges
• Troubleshoot and take corrective action when parameters are near or out of defined ranges
• Conducts and evaluates laboratory analytical results and adjusts chemical dosages and processes as needed
• Load and unload trucks with feedstock, finished products and chemicals.
• Perform light maintenance on plant equipment including preventive and regular maintenance.
• Maintains legible, accurate records and logs of shift operations; records meter and gauge readings and data such as chemical levels, flow rates, and laboratory analyses
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the plant and other operating areas
• Assist with other duties, as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma required
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with preferred 1-3 years of previous operations work experience
• Working knowledge of safety in a process environment
• Prior training and experience in performing preventative maintenance on industrial equipment preferred
• Proficiency in using computers and PLC systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
• Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed
