The Plant Manager (Mine Manager) role is based in Enumclaw, WA and reports directly to the Area Aggregates Operations Manager.
Key Targets of the Role
- Overall responsibility for safety, production, and cost for all activities at the HM Pacific Northwest Enumclaw location.
- Maintain site safety programs and ensure compliance with all Federal (MSHA part 46) and State regulations, maintain all training records, lead safety meetings, and supervise established safety procedures.
- Proactively manage safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company's safety and health performance.
- Manage the Overall cost, production, quality, and maintenance activities including the achievement of business strategic plans.
- Plan, schedule, and direct mining and processing of aggregates to exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers.
- Plan and implement reclamation as required by Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
- Maintains company assets in good operational condition and recommends replacement opportunities when necessary.
- Maintains plant staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains plant staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results. Achieves financial objectives by preparing annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- High school diploma, Post-Secondary Education, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of industry experience
- 2+ years of direct supervisor experience preferred
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing, construction, logistics, mining, or related environment
- Practice with budgeting and cost management
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations
- Knowledge in the operation and utilization of plants and equipment
- Ability to understand safety regulations and implement a safety program.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- $96,700 -$145,100 annually

Role operates in a professional office setting sometimes but primarily operates at the production/mine site and requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
