Summary of duties and responsibilities: Jordan Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Plant

Manager to be responsible for their growing, fast-paced manufacturing operation. The Plant Manager’s primary responsibilities will include ensuring all plant efficiency and productivity goals are achieved, and future goals continue to raise the performance expectations. The manager will ensure lean standard safe work methods are in place, documented, and executed through a direct report production manager, supervisors, line leads, and plant staff. The manager will uphold and practice safe work habits to ensure the manufacturing operations are as safe and efficient as possible.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

1. Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to customer and company quality standards.

2. Partners with EHS Director and EHS Training Coordinator to identify and resolve safety issues.

3. Partners with EHS Director and EHS Training Coordinator to ensure safety programs are consistently followed.

4. Plan, communicate, and implement the plant’s overall manufacturing and customer fulfillment strategy to maximize on time service, efficiency, and productivity.

5. Ensures plant resourcing is sufficient, customer demand is met, project deadlines are achieved, and the product quality meets or exceeds expectations.

6. Sets key performance indicators for the plant that align with organizational goals and reviews progress toward these goals with the Director of Manufacturing on a frequent basis.

7. Ability to communicate effectively and honestly with all customers and provide solutions to problems in a timely fashion; define problems, collect data, establish facts to draw valid conclusions.

8. Direct and lead production manager, supervisors, and line leads to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.

9. Act as liaison between executive, management, and subordinate levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and results.

10. Employee Relations responsibilities partnering with Human Resources.

11. Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.

12. Provide leadership on continuous improvements, visual metrics, standard work, and lean manufacturing efficiencies for the facility.

13. Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).

14. Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).

15. Partners with Engineering and Maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance programs are defined and consistently followed.

16. Teach & support the teams in using problem solving & tracking tools (experience utilizing Management Operating Systems a huge plus).

17. Perform regular & periodic validation of each project / initiative with the plant management team.

18. Single-Site production responsibility.

19. Works with Director of Manufacturing to develop operating and capital budgets.

20. Oversees and participates in recruitment, hiring, and training of plant staff.

21. Works cross functionally to solve problems and drive process improvements.

22. Directly supervise, coach and mentor direct reports and ensures standardized training and measurement systems are built into the production teams.

23. Ensure production training is carried through to the production workforce.

24. Provide constructive feedback in formally documented employee performance reviews.

25. Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets through scorecard metrics reported to the Director of Manufacturing monthly.

26. Champion cross functional ways of working to promote seamless customer service and efficient processes.

27. Drive methods for improvement such as lean manufacturing and six sigma.

28. Ensure plant complies with applicable laws and regulations (OSHA, DOL, SMETA, etc.)

29. Provides training for important topics such as risk mitigation, safety protocols, usage of new equipment, and industry best practices.

30. Partner with scheduling, sales, and logistics teams on tactical execution.

31. Create a culture of accountability.

32. Performs other duties as required.

Education/ Training/ Experience:

1. 3-5 years working experience as a manufacturing Plant Manager with proven results.

2. 3+ years of strategic initiatives execution, financial budgeting, and capital appropriation.

3. Previous change management experience, driving engagement and culture.

4. Creative, reliable, organized, adaptable, flexible, innovative, and a self-starter.

5. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage direct reports driving improvements throughout the plant.

6. Must be able to prioritize issues and assign appropriate resources for resolution.

7. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

8. Ability to work cross functionally and handle multiple projects that deliver on time.

9. BS in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or similar relevant field.

10. Lean Certified and/or Six Sigma preferred.

Skills:

1. Have a deep understanding of systems and processes, combining data-driven critical thinking with the expertise to optimize production efficiencies and output.

2. Organized, proactive, and motivating team leader.

3. Computer experience in ERP systems, reporting, and MS Office.

4. Strong communications, writing, and interpersonal skills.

5. High EQ.

6. Experience in building processes from the ground up a plus.

Physical environment/ Working conditions: The position oversees 1 plant and will require minimal travel. Work duties in the factory and office could involve sitting, standing, walking, and lifting for long period of time throughout the day.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
