Position Summary: The Plant Manager will supervise the operations, production, and materials handling teams to address the growing need for specialized recycled critical materials, playing a pivotal role in supporting electric vehicles, grid energy storage, redox flow batteries, and steel industries. This role requires a proactive and strategic leader who can effectively manage operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Operations Oversight: Oversee all aspects of plant operations including pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical plants, materials handling, and quality control.
- Production Planning: Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet business demands.
- Performance Management: Accountable for achieving plant performance objectives in production, reliability, operations, and product quality.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure safe operation of the facility and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant performance, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Financial Management: Control plant spending and budget, focusing on reducing fixed costs and optimizing variable costs.
- Cost Optimization: Develop plans to minimize processing costs through data-driven decision-making.
- Data Analysis: Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strategic Initiatives: Implement chemical processing strategies and action plans in support of strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical, Petroleum, Mining or Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
- Relevant experience in mining, metal refining, furnaces, or leaching of: vanadium, molybdenum, nickel, cobalt, aluminum, or cement preferred
- Previous experience in chemical plant, plant management or related high-impact roles.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
- Experience with production planning and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and decision-making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
