Description:SUMMARY:Plant Maintenance Technician II, will take the full responsibility for the at ready state of all equipment and supporting infrastructure for the Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company assets related to the production, Safety and Quality of the business focus. The position will be an hourly rotating schedule.

The Plant Maintenance Technician will perform services and repairs for all primary and support equipment. The Technician will possess a level of technical understanding within the concentrated technology, including operations, component life cycles, and activities required to maintain basic conditions. Will help deploy technology training sessions and validate transfer of knowledge, within the production department. Schedule work that needs to be completed during nonproduction hours and support complete preventive and predictive maintenance and troubleshooting of all aspects of the production equipment. The position will also be responsible for supporting the maintaining of the parts inventory, at an appropriate inventory level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following.

  • Ensure all operating procedures are accurate and followed according to the documented training.
  • Interface with all production employees on the best practices and changes that would result in process improvements once approved.
  • Ensure the equipment logs are up to date and edited to include parts usage and history.
  • Participate in the reduction of waste, materials, and product.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and facility to include programmable logic controls, mechanical power transmission, mechanical and electrical repairs on high and low control voltage including single and 3 phase power.
  • Preform and track completion of preventive, predictive work on equipment and facilities to avoid equipment down time and ensure equipment readiness and reliability.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient follow-up on all outstanding requests for service.
  • Develop and train department employees to improve and sustain equipment up time as part of the documented daily routine.
  • Maintain accuracy of information used to support the Key Business Indicators with success measured by reduction in downtime and capacity utilization as shown on company reporting software.
  • Maintain the appropriate parts inventory by communicating to appropriate individuals to order for stock. Participate in inventory reconciliation of equipment parts.
  • Be available for support of the plant operations to other crews and support/train the crew supervisors and operators.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results by reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, schematics, handbooks and other technical design documents.
  • Excellent customer service skills, proven track record of detail orientated problem solving, trouble shooting and follow up.
  • Excellent analytical skills relative to data analysis and data auditing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None

COMPETENCIES:Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skill. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals. Utilize your skills in Power Transmission, welding, fabrication, air and fluid power and control, electrical and PLC programing and troubleshooting to enhance all aspects of production operations are properly maintained.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education and/or Experience:High school graduate or equivalent, 3 years in the performance of a high-speed production facility working with minimal supervision. Prior electrical, welding and programming skill a plus
  • Language Skills:Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from employees. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with ability to present information to management.
  • Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied both written and verbal format. Success to be measured against the metrics of unscheduled downtime, Equipment failures and adherence to the production schedule.
  • Computer Skills:Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Other Skills and Abilities:Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical power transmission (motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains) and other mechanical equipment. Ability work in a team environment to mentor and train other employees. Will follow all Company/safety policies and procedures.
  • Other Qualifications:3 years industrial maintenance experience. Six Sigma training, ability to mentor/develop team members. Continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing. Experience with controls, robotics, drives and system level communication systems, vision systems and sensors use and application.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/kneel bend and reach.

The employee will be on their feet for multiple hours, moving, bending, lifting, stacking, un- stacking, squatting, and stretching.

The employee must lift, push, pull, carry and/or move 10 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
