Job Details
Job Duties:
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance & accounting functions of the local operations
- Responsible for implementing and monitoring financial controls
- Lead, plan and direct accounting department staff
- Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Month end close & reporting
- Oversee and own account reconciliation process to maintain integrity of plant general ledger and its supporting sub-systems
- General Ledger. Adhere to all US GAAP requirements
- Supports Plant Management & Director of Finance in preparation of the annual operating budget, strategic plans, quarterly outlooks, and capital budgets
- Develops models -KPI's
- Floor observing production on the shop floor; develop relationships to ensure effective communication lines
- Participate in facility task forces, teams, or committees within the organization to implement positive process improvements, cost reduction
- Supervise and approve Cost Accountant’s New Product Standard Costing, review of Daily Engineering Changes
- Inventory - Provide analysis on inventory levels, cycle count accuracy, obsolete & slow- moving
- Review and analyze monthly contribution margin reports
- Oversee preparation of annual budgeted labor and overhead calculation and year-end cost roll process
- Fixed Assets – Responsible for the accounting and reconciling of all facility assets to the General Ledger
- Assist in the maintenance of all financial system applications
- Support Corporate Controller and Director of Finance with coordination of the company’s annual audit and assist with company financial analysis as required
Requirements:
- B.A. or B.S. in Accounting. MBA/CPA desirable
- 8 Plus years of experience in Manufacturing environment
- GAAP experience
- Manufacturing Cost and General Accounting Transactions. Ability to develop creative alternative solutions to business problems.
- Strong Cost accounting principles
- Demonstrates strong judgement & Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal & oral, with the ability to express ideas in a clear and logical manner
- Must be able to effectively interface with all levels of the organization, both internally & externally
- Must have the ability to multi-task or work on concurrent projects and still meet customer expectations with the same results, service, and quality
- Good commercial sense, strategic thinking, flexible, open minded
- Extensive PC skills with spreadsheet and database Experience using ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards
- Travel as needed
