Job Title:Plant Controller
Location: Muskegon, MI
Shift: Monday-Friday, 1st shift
Start date: Anticipated employment start date is 1/2/2024, or shorlty thereafter
Responsible for directing and managing all financial and accounting functions within the framework of corporate policy and GAAP. The position is also responsible for Supervision of the purchasing, inventory, and scheduling functions within the plant. Interacts with all levels of divisional and plant management. In addition, work closely with plant production and technical management.

Job Title:Plant Controller

Responsible for directing and managing all financial and accounting functions within the framework of corporate policy and GAAP. Duties:
- Responsible for performing all accounting functions including general accounting, accounts payable, and cost accounting.
- Gather, process, and dissemination of all financial data and derived statistical analysis to provide information on a periodic basis to Operation Management, Group Controller and Corporate functions.
- Understand, communicate, and analyze variance drivers within business; identify root cause and actions for each.
- Work with Finance and Business Leaders to understand and drive opportunities for managing cost.
- Lead and provide analytics on strategic initiatives.
- Prepare Annual Operating Plan; Compile data required to prepare budgets and updated forecasts relating future estimated expense levels to sales and production plans.
- Perform Monthly Close (JE's, month end electrical and fuel reports).
- Provide various financial reports (ie inventory, cost, variance reporting).
- Assist inventory management and control related functions including physical inventories, cycle counts, daily monitoring, and reconciliations.
- Prepare financial data for profitability studies, capital projects, and other special exercises and conducts post completion audits to verify the validity and profitability of project expenditures.
- Ensure the site operates with clear visibility of the cost structures and strategies while maintaining compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper internal controls to protect company assets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. in Accounting/Finance
- 5 - 7 years Accounting/Finance in manufacturing environment
- Proficient user of MS Office products and SAP
- Knowledge of management accounting and inventory systems.
- Strong analytical/math skills with the ability to comprehend and apply generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent critical thinking and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to lead others.
- Previous experience working with procurement, inventory management and scheduling in a manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Available to begin employment 1/2/2024, or shortly thereafter.
