Our direct client is currently seeking a Senior PL/SQL Developer who will work with multiple teams, including application partners, to focus on PL/SQL development involving a blend of enhancements, migrations, ongoing maintenance, and optimization of Oracle databases, primarily in the context of capital projects running Agile/SAFe practices.

Duration: 1-year contract (W2, likely to extend/convert to FTE)
Rate: $57-$71/hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: 40 hours/week, M-F, standard business hours
Description:
- Collaborate with various teams to identify requirements and execute technical implementations related to Oracle Database architecture, specifically on Oracle 12C and 19C versions.
- Lead and perform PL/SQL development tasks, including stored procedures and database performance tuning.
- Manage scope and planning of database changes and enhancements, including stakeholder management and communication.
- Provide hands-on support for capital projects, conducting code review and feedback.
- Methodically troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting Oracle 19c projects to meet project deadlines.
- Implement secure and scalable enterprise Oracle 19c RDBMS, including managing multiple schemas/databases across different stages.
- Contribute to and execute data migration strategies for VLDB and improve lifecycle upgrade processes for engineered systems like Exadata.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in administrating medium to large Oracle Databases
- Strong PL/SQL development experience is mandatory, specifically with a focus on performance tuning
- Experience with Oracle 12c and 19c databases
- Deep understanding of the Linux operating system and experience in shell scripting
- Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Java knowledge is highly preferred for code readability and impact analysis
- Financial or banking industry experience is loosely preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present, discuss, and explain issues clearly
- Good team player, self-motivated, and ability to work on own initiative

Technical Certification Bonus:
Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
