The Pit Crew Member’s primary task is preparing meats on the smokers. The Pit Crew Member monitors the meat’s temperature to ensure it is cooked safely. This position also participates in tip shares at the restaurant.
Job Duties
- Trim and season all meats smoked on the three smokers used at HoneyFire BBQ.
- Prepare Ingredients: Before the meat is smoked, Pit Crew Members are responsible for preparing the meats by trimming and seasoning. This usually takes place before the restaurant opens and continues until all meats are loaded on the smokers at the appropriate times.
- Monitor pars and adjust quantities as needed.
- Clean smokers: Throughout their shift, Pit Crew Members are responsible for cleaning the smokers. This involves scrubbing off remaining food and washing the general area. Cleanliness is of utmost importance in the kitchen, and the Pit Crew Members are responsible for making sure customers stay healthy.
