Harrison County Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Office Receptionist.
The Physician Office Receptionist will perform administrative and clinical duties to support medical staff. Communicate with patients and work closely with healthcare professionals. Ability to use analytical skills to understand medical diagnosis and follow medical charts.
The incumbent is responsible for answering telephone, determining the nature of the patient call and incoming calls, scheduling appointments, routing calls, taking APPROPIATE messages, greeting patients and family members, obtaining proper registration and insurance data and update the information into the EMR facilitating patient flow and proper billing system. The incumbent may be responsible for charge entry and posting co-pays to patient accounts. The incumbent attends to patients utilizing age appropriate principles for growth and development for patients of all ages according to practice specialty.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- Use of correct terminology, spelling and grammar in documentation.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various healthcare professionals, patients, families, and employees.
SKILLS:
- Ability to work independently and with groups.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Annual CPR recertification
- Ability to operate office equipment: computer, printers, fax machine, copy machine, telephone
