Job Description
Join the team as a Pharmacy Technician at Miller's LTC in Fremont! In this role, you will assist with the packaging and dispensing of prescription medications for patients we service. You will also maintain inventory and supplies. This is a Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and rotating Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform tasks to prepare, dispense, and stock prescribed medication, such as counting tablets, maintaining inventory, retrieving medication, labeling bottles, and packing boxes for shipping
- Enter data in a computer system such as recording all prescriptions, purchase orders, and stock orders
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain records such as filing physicians' orders and prescriptions
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and inform supervisors of stock needs/shortages
- Other duties as necessary
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or GED required
- The current State of Nebraska Pharmacy Technician Registration is in good standing along with proof of completion of a board-approved state or national Pharmacy Technician certification program. If a candidate is not currently registered as a technician, they must obtain registration through the state of Nebraska before starting as a technician. Once a candidate becomes newly registered as a technician with the state, the candidate MUST show completion of a certification exam through a board-approved state or national Pharmacy Technician certification program within one year from registration above date.
- Knowledge of prescriptions, medications, and pharmacy procedures/best practices
- Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronics Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Skill in managing multiple priorities
- Ability to convey professional demeanor when engaging with patients, protecting privacy, and confidentiality
- Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records accurately
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a licensed pharmacy preferred or experience in a healthcare field.

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating Saturdays
