Description
NorthLakes Community Clinic is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Pharmacy Technician to join our Ashland and Iron River Clinic teams! **Travel between both clinics is required**
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm
The Pharmacy Technician role will assist the Pharmacists in providing prescription and drug information to help NorthLakes Clinic patients lead healthy lives.
- Processes prescriptions via computer system and prepares bottles/vials and other dosage forms for dispensing by pharmacists.
- Orders, receives and stocks inventory and supplies using proper inventory management - this includes hand-counting and tracking supplies and application of basic mathematical functions.
- Performs monthly inventory checks to help manage supplies.
- Answers phone calls and fields patient questions.
- Uses cash register to process sales and prescription pick up.
- Helps initiate and process Prior Authorization requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or 1500 hours Pharm Tech experience in the previous three years
- Basic mathematical calculations required to determine dosage for prescriptions and daily supply calculations.
- Counting by hand for dispensing accurate dosage measurements.
- Ability to interpret and accurately document medication refills as ordered within patient chart.
- Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
