Core Competencies
Assesses prescriptions for appropriateness and completeness, documenting changes and clarifications.
- Serves as a ‘Standards of Behavior’ mentor/role model for persons reporting to this position as outlined in HR Policy 203.
- Responds to Emergency Code pages and prepares medications as needed.
Supervises and directs all ancillary personnel to ensure that all services provided by the pharmacy department are done in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains department competencies for compounded sterile and non-sterile products. Ensures the completion of all necessary documentation as required by regulating bodies.
Provides quality assurance on all unit-dose, non-sterile compounded, and sterile compounded products by abiding by the policies regarding medication storage, preparation/labeling, handling, dispensing, and disposal.
Provides drug information to healthcare professionals or the public when called upon.
Maintains medication security to authorized personnel only. Abides by the “Medication Security” policy.
Completes annual clinical competencies in a timely manner.
Provides health care services in own job description for Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics.
