Pet Sitter/Dog Walker (Part-Time)

Pawsitive Vibes Petcare LLC is an established and well-respected pet sitting and dog walking business, serving the greater Broomfield and Westminster area since 2018. We provide year-round, reliable care for our clients' pets, creating a top-notch experience that is unmatched for both our clients and staff! We are a growing business, looking to build our team of professional caretakers, while providing a rewarding job that allow our sitters to build bonds with animals, spend more time outdoors, and work in a positive and rewarding position.

We service most of Broomfield, Westminster, Superior and parts of Arvada. We are hiring folk who live in this area!

About This Part Time Position:

-This position requires consistent availability Monday-Friday between 9am-3pm. (Any additional availability from 6am to 8pm every day of the week is a plus but not required)

-New hires typically start at 6 to 16 hours per week (2-4 shifts). It is rare to work more than 20 hours per week but hours can be added based on demand, availability, and employee performance.

-All new hires are hired as W-2 employees and are covered under our business insurance, bonding, and workers compensation insurance.

-Every pet is screened before joining our pack - we do not accept human aggressive dogs.

-This can be a physically demanding job, and it requires the ability to walk at a brisk pace for multiple hours a day as well as the ability to control dogs of all sizes in a variety of weather conditions.

-Our normal day-to-day work will be performed outdoors and/or in clients' homes, working one-on-one with pets from the same home. We do not work with pets from multiple homes at the same time.

The ideal candidate:

-An ideal candidate should have an innate desire to care for animals while ensuring their safety. This job is highly rewarding if you are truly passionate about animals (dogs/cats specifically) and enjoy being outside and active.
-Great for freelancers, stay-at-home parents, restaurant industry employees, retirees, and college students with consistent availability during the day between 9-3pm.
-We hire for long-term employment so the ideal candidate is looking for long-term, supplemental income.
-This is an excellent opportunity for people looking to start a career, grow their current professional experience, or simply enjoy the companionship of dogs. Many members of our staff were previously dog walkers with on-demand services, doggy daycare staff, dog groomers, or volunteers at a local shelter.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- You must be available Monday - Friday, for a consistent schedule that falls between 9am to 3pm. The schedule may vary slightly daily but will be consistent on a week-to-week basis.
- Driving to and from client's homes on a set schedule, in your own car
- Walking dogs for 20-60 minutes at a time
- Feeding pets, scooping litter boxes, other household care
- Paying close attention to and following directions from clients and management
- Regularly communicating with management throughout our hours of operation
- Regular use and interaction with our client software and app on your smartphone
- Occasionally communicating with clients in-person while working with their pets

Desired Skills:

- Natural affinity and passion for companion animals like dogs and cats
- Comfortable using smartphones and software technology
- Physically able to be on your feet for several hours a day
- Comfortable driving from home-to-home
- Calmness and the ability to problem-solve if there is an emergency
- Time Management Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new information
***Bonus: Volunteer experience at shelters and rescues, vet tech or office experience, or previous dog walking/pet sitting experience is a plus!

Compensation and Benefits:

-Employee Pay starts at $16 per hour
- Clients occasionally provide gratuity which can bring your average hourly wage up $1-5 per hour
