Personal Care Assistant (Pca)

Presbyterian Homes and Services of Kentucky is currently hiring a part-time, Personal Care Assistant for our Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility in Pikeville, KY.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED, preferred. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Answer lifeline response or alert call immediately.
• Assist residents with ADLs as scheduled or requested.
• Record provided services on log sheet.
• Monitor and remind residents that self-administer medications.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures.
• Report any resident changes to Executive Director immediately.
• Attend all in-services scheduled.
• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by the Executive Director or designee.
• Report any unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Greet residents and escort them to their room, as needed.
• Change resident’s bed linens and make beds as requested.
• Adhere to the weekly housekeeping duties of the facility.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information (PHI). Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
• Ensure that you treat all residents fairly and with kindness, dignity, and respect.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the building during your complete shift.
