Assist residents in activities of daily living and intervention as appropriate to meet the needs of the participants. Is knowledgeable of and understands the needs of the resident population.
Description
- Assists residents in activities of daily living including dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming oral hygiene, escorting residents to and from the dining room and programs in a professional manner, following plans of service for residents set by management team.
- Makes accurate entries and charts according to Heritage policy and procedure.
- Carries out simple treatments under the direction of nursing staff.
- Strictly follows SAMM policies and procedures.
- Has a competent understanding of all chemicals and has been trained to use them in accordance with standards.
- Immediately reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor,
- Drives Heritage vehicle for errands, transporting, or other uses as directed.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, and other departments within Heritage, to assure that programs can be properly planned and maintained to meet the needs of Heritage.
- Participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Executive Director and/or designee to meet the needs of the residents and the facility.
Qualifications
- High School degree
- Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- CNA Certification
- HHA Certification
- Completion of 54 hours Personal Care Training by Heritage and must pass the PCA certification for assisted living within (4) four-weeks of start date
- Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must have a current MA Drivers License
