Casa Bonita Overview
Casa Bonita is an iconic Mexican-themed restaurant and entertainment mecca in Lakewood, Colorado. Known as “the most exciting restaurant in the world,” the category-defining concept is an immersive experience that features dining in the midst of a 30-foot-tall indoor waterfall, cliff divers, puppeteers, magicians, and a mystical cast of characters. Casa Bonita is celebrating its 50th anniversary of being a part of the Denver community with a fan-base that continues to grow globally.
Job Summary: The Performer Lead is a full time position consisting of performance in various casted
roles, leadership of cast, and administrative duties. A week in this role could consist of playing a
gorilla one day, being a puppeteer the next, and assisting with leadership duties the day after that.
This exciting role offers an opportunity to grow as both a performer and leader, wearing many hats
to ensure that the Casa Bonita Entertainment Department runs smoothly and offers the highest
quality entertainment possible.
Requirements:
  • Up to 4 performance shifts per week and either 1-2 Floor Manager shift or
administrative/rehearsal time (when fully open)
  • Has an intimate knowledge of all shows, characters, blocking, and clockwork.
  • Act as leaders with the crew.
  • This means knowing when and how to share information
  • presenting a positive and upbeat attitude even when it may be difficult,
  • Pitching in to assist even if job duties do not expressly state that they are needed.
  • Communicate with crew in a straightforward way when items come up or need to be
addressed or enforced.
  • Lead by example, setting high standards for professionalism and commitment
  • Be present consistently and available for shifts as scheduled with minimal changes or
substitutions
  • Keep in regular communication with Entertainment Manager about needs and issues
  • Able to step in to perform any necessary casted roles
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading company meetings and warm ups
  • Filling Floor Manager shifts on the floor when needed. Tasks on the floor include:
  • Making on the ground decisions on performance structure
  • Understanding the needs and expectations of Casa management and releasing
performers at the end of the night.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to performance
  • General administrative tasks which could include
  • Post shift or post rehearsal reports
  • Documentation regarding character discoveries
  • Attend lead meetings and being up to date and able to share on all necessary notes
  • Understand and maintaining the approved character and in world performances by the cast
and offering notes through the approved channels
  • Assist with running rehearsal efficiently, coordinating worldwide runs, carrying the creative
vision and teaching to new cast. Be willing to offer creative pivots, changes, or solutions
  • Be a resource for cast on questions regarding rehearsal schedule, direction, and logistics
  • Able and eagerly willing to learn and competently perform a variety of roles within the cast
Physical & Environmental Demands:
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and walk often at a brisk pace
  • Able to walk up inclines and stairs and down declines and stairs multiple times during a shift
  • Capable of sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work and perform job tasks in small spaces
  • Possesses fine motor skills and dexterity
  • Able to withstand temperatures typical within an commercial kitchen setting
  • Able to withstand noise levels typical of a high-volume kitchen
  • Able to perform job duties efficiently in lighting conditions typical of an commercial restaurant and commercial kitchen
  • Able to work calmly under pressure and at a fast pace, typical of a high volume restaurant and commercial kitchen
  • Capable of and at ease with engaging with the public, potentially encountering challenging behavior, infectious diseases, and service animals
