Per Diem Occupational Health Registered Nurse
Scope:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will support an Occupational Health on-site clinic temporary assignment.
Primary Function:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing nursing services for on-site clinic. The RN may also perform initial chart review and chart case management for medical exam/screening programs to verify that all medical information and exam components are accurate. The RN works directly with a professional medical team and Examinees to ensure all medical information is gathered and performs medical Quality Assurance on all charts in various process stages leading to a final determination.
This is a Per Diem position (as needed) and length of assignment may vary based on operational needs and client requirements. There is no guarantee of a set schedule or number of hours worked per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides nursing services within the RN scope of practice to preserve the health and wellness of examinees.
- Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
- Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.
- Responsible for medical record review for medical exam and screening programs.
- Works directly with medical providers and examinees to ensure all medical information is gathered.
- Collaborates with Physician(s) and other internal nursing staff members for chart review.
- Performs medical Quality Assurance (QA) on all charts in various process stages.
- Implements and follows up on requests for further evaluation from the Examinee when required.
Qualifications
- Graduated from accredited Nursing school.
- Must hold a current unrestricted Registered Nurse License in the State of Michigan.
- 3 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurses Specialist (COHN-S).
- Certified Occupational Hearing Conservative (OHC)
- NIOSH - Approved Pulmonary Function Training
- Urine Drug Collector
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- May require working in outdoor environments.
- Constant use of computer and common office equipment required.
