People & Culture Generalist

At THS National, we are looking for an outgoing, people-oriented individual who enjoys building positive and collaborative relationships with internal team members and external candidates. The successful candidate will possess extensive human resource knowledge, enjoy leading the conversation and exploring new frontiers. This role offers you a fast-paced environment where you can be a motivating team builder and organizational developer.

Job Summary:

The People & Culture Generalist aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. Assisting hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops job postings and facilitates advertisement processes, Screening applications and scheduling interviews.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Prepares new-employee files and entering new hires in the HRIS system.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employment verifications.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Participates in the New Hire Orientation
  • Assists with preparation of the performance review process.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of employee files.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Serves as backup for processing of payroll; biweekly.
  • Assists in Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Participates in the planning of the company holiday parties, tenure awards and other corporate events as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, and organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems (Paycom).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Three to Five years of human resource and recruiting experience required
  • Multi-State Human Resource experience preferred
  • Experience using Paycom preferred
