Job Description:

The primary responsibility of an PBP is to align HR strategies and functions with the overall business objectives and goals of the company. This role goes beyond traditional HR functions, you will support culture and engagement of our combined 22,000+ Team Members for Main Event and Dave and Buster’s, directly supports Field leaders and Team Members, and ensures that we have the right people and capabilities to achieve the company’s business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partner: PBPs act as strategic partners to senior management and other business leaders. They understand the company's mission, vision, and goals and help develop HR strategies that support these objectives.
  • Consultation: PBPs provide expert HR guidance and consultation to business leaders. They help solve complex people-related issues and ensure that HR practices align with business needs.
  • Talent Management: They are involved in talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies. This includes workforce planning, succession planning, and identifying key talent within the organization.
  • Employee Relations: PBPs play a critical role in managing employee relations, which includes resolving disputes, addressing grievances, and promoting a positive workplace culture..
  • Change Management: They help manage organizational change initiatives by providing support and guidance to ensure that changes are implemented smoothly and effectively.
  • Data Analysis: PBPs use data and metrics to identify trends, monitor HR KPIs, and make data-driven decisions. They may also conduct workforce analytics to support business decisions.
  • Compliance: They ensure that HR practices and policies comply with relevant laws and regulations, reducing legal risks for the organization.
  • Organizational Development: PBPs work on strategies to enhance the overall organizational effectiveness, which may involve performance management, training and development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Communication: They facilitate communication between employees and management, ensuring that employees are informed about company policies, changes, and updates.
  • HR Projects: PBPs often lead or participate in HR projects that are aligned with the company's strategic goals, such as restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, or diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Business Acumen: To be effective, PBPs need a deep understanding of the industry in which their organization operates. This enables them to provide HR solutions that are tailored to the specific challenges and opportunities of that industry.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • People Business Partner experience leading in a multi-unit restaurant or retail environment.
  • Must reside in the state of California
  • Must have experience managing HR compliance in the state of California
  • High level of capability in change management
  • May travel 10% - 25% | Weekly store visits
  • History of leadership roles with companies that are culture-forward
  • Use sound judgement and has strong decision-making skills
  • 5+ years of professional work experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • BA/BS required
