PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST/Alcohol & Drug Department (GRANT FUNDED): Under general supervision, performs functions as a team and recovery support, utilizing the pillars of Peer Recovery Support Services in a community and office setting. This is a GRANT FUNDED position where a Peer would be working with a team of first responders to do community outreach to overdose victims, community education, referral and support to potential Beaufort Alcohol and Drug Abuse patients and their families, as well as essential data collection. Duties include: sharing “lived experiences” with patients; establishing a safe and authentic therapeutic alliance with patients; connecting patients with services and supporting the delivery of various services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Two (2) years of recovery from substance use disorder with current participation in mutual (“self”) help program
- High school diploma or GED
- Peer Recovery Support Specialist or Recovery Coach Certified preferred
- Strong customer service skills required
- Strong technology (computer and use of spreadsheets) necessary
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
SALARY: $18.23 to $22.92 per hour / DOQ
