Description

Mobile Crisis Response Team provides 24/7 community-based crisis services that deliver solution-focused and recovery-oriented behavioral health assessments and stabilization of crisis in the location where the individual is experiencing the crisis.  This position is designated as an essential position and the employee’s presence at work is required to assist the agency and/or division in meeting its operational needs.

The position is supervised by the Program Supervisor or other member of the management team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:

  • Promotes a warm and engaging organizational culture that values trauma informed care, and health and wellness.
  • Provides in- person and tele health crisis support as a part of multidisciplinary team serving individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crisis.
  • Establishes rapport with clients, assessing client needs; organizes, plans, and delivers face-to-face client services; and provides verbal de-escalation when necessary.
  • Provides services that are welcoming, engaging and accessible.
  • Develops crisis/safety plans to help the individual be able to safely maintain in the community.
  • Responds to crisis calls from multiple referral sources including by not limited to NorthCare Crisis line, First Responder IPAD, and 988 dispatch.
  • Provides advocacy on the patient’s behalf within NorthCare and the community as necessary to assist the patient in the recovery/independent living processes. 
  • Supports patients to recognize and utilize their own strengths, skills, talents, and ability to increase the patient’s independence and self-sufficiency in the community.
  • Supports the patient in development and/or maintenance of relationships with family, friends, neighbors, and significant others in the community.
  • Collects in-depth information about a client’s situation and functioning through client interview and other relevant sources to identify individual needs.
  • Assists consumers in obtaining services that suit consumer’s recovery needs.
  • Assists consumers in developing empowerment skills through self-advocacy.
  • Assists consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery.
  • Teaches and mentors the value of every individual’s recovery experience.
  • Provides holiday coverage during scheduled week hours with the exception of paid time off approved by the Supervisor.
  • Provides coverage for Urgent Recovery Center staff as needed.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CARF and DMHSAS standards and criteria, CCBHC practices, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements including Medicaid and HCA regulations.
  • Participates in outreach and engagement efforts for clients and other professionals at inpatient levels of care to facilitate referrals and client participation in services.
  • Attends meetings and trainings required by the program.       
  • Reports and documents services within 24 hours.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

Candidate/employee must have current ODMHSAS Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification and complete annual continuing education requirements to maintain certification.  ODMHSAS Wellness Coach Certification preferred. For Level: I PRSS must have 1 year experience in the community mental health field.

This position requires a high degree of flexibility and efficiency. Must display proficiency in the MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally with English-speaking patients. Employee must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to move about facilities freely. Casual professional dress is required with adherence to dress code requirements.  

Must have access to reliable transportation. Local travel is required. Must possess and provide verification of valid Oklahoma driver’s license during employment with NorthCare. Must maintain and provide verification of current automobile liability insurance including uninsured motorist coverage. Must be COVID 19 vaccinated and follow CDC guidelines regarding COVID vaccination. 

Must possess and maintain CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications; or obtain within 30 days of employment with NorthCare. Must have complete NorthCare required trainings within 30 days of employment with NorthCare. Must have TB test within 12 months prior to employment with NorthCare or obtain within 30 days of employment with NorthCare.
