Position Purpose:

The Lead Peer Recover Support Specialist supervises all cases assigned to PRSSs with the Tribal 988 Mobile Crisis Unit and will act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and support for PRSS on treatment teams. They will work closely with the LADC and PRSS to oversee and monitor the case management activities of all clients receiving services from the Peoria Crisis Prevention Program. This position will serve as the PRSS team’s mentor by training, tracking outcomes, collecting and reporting data, running the mobile crisis unit, and creating community partnerships with tribal communities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· A Lead PRSS should exhibit excellent communication skills.

· They will guide and lead forensic PRSS in developing resources for building a reentry protocol.

· Will address and promote what to address during PEER Relapse and create a relapse prevention plan.

· Assists with Peers in articulating personal goals and objectives needed to reach their goals.

· Must document accurately and promptly through progress notes, treatment plans, and follow-up contacts according to the policies and procedures.

· Make engagement attempts with clients in various community settings, including PEER’s homes, shelters, prisons, and jails, and collaborate with other case managers in warm handoffs for Peer’s re-entering society.

· Helps peers recognize and utilize their strengths, skills, talents, and abilities to increase their independence and self-sufficiency in the community.

· Provide a full array of services, including services that guide client treatment through various levels of care. This includes but is not limited to, intake appointment scheduling, review of treatment history, and attending case coordination meetings with the client.

· They work with patients to determine needs and evaluate interventions.

· They will possess leadership qualities to guide individuals of varying backgrounds towards a common goal for improving a PEER’s health and quality of life.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

· Three years of PRSS experience.

· Maintain confidentiality of all peer's protected health information and adhere to all HIPPA-related policies and procedures.

· A High School Diploma degree or equivalent education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Developing and coordinating health care programs
  • Communicating between staff, patients, and family
  • Handling patient case management and education
  • Recruiting and training staff and creating schedules
  • Developing patient goals and monitoring progress
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and quality care
  • Demonstrates personal knowledge in advocacy in recovery.

Certifications:

· This position requires that the applicant is currently certified as a Senior Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist

· Current case management certification from the ODMHSAS Must be obtained within 60 days of employment.

· Certification as a WRAP facilitator preferred.

· Valid Driver’s License and insurance.

· CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.

Work Requirements:

Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed in an office environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
