Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping patients improve their communication abilities. You will work with a diverse patient population, traveling throughout Allegheny County providing early intervention services to children birth to three years of age.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Provide therapy sessions to improve speech articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and voice quality
- Administer informal assessments to evaluate patient progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop appropriate goals and strategies for patient care
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and techniques
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech, language, and swallowing
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families
- Strong organizational skills for case management and documentation
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience in a pediatric setting is preferred
