The Director of Media & Marketing will strategize and lead all of Japan Society’s marketing, advertising, digital, and public relations initiatives, managing and inspiring an in-house team working on communications, social media, website, video, design and print production, digital branding and publications. The ideal candidate will be able to work amongst all departments to create stories that push Japan Society’s brand, values, and mission’s forward. They should also have a proven track record identifying and building connections amongst numerous departments to create marketing initiatives with a singular vision. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director of Media & Marketing will successfully lead the organization’s brand and marketing strategy, driving audiences and business growth in accordance with the Society’s goals.
Salary
$115,000 - $135,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and provide hands on management to an experienced seven-person Marketing, Communications, and Creative team.
- Communicate and collaborate with all program departments for marketing of events and branding.
- Develop, lead and execute marketing strategies for Japan Society programs and events.
- Oversee external communications, including outside agencies and partnerships.
- Work with Executive Office on promotion and communications around special projects and initiatives.
- Prepare, manage, and maintain the departmental budget, including the strategic planning process.
- Provide hands-on support to the Senior Website Manager as needed.
