Our team is looking to hire a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, preferably one with feeding experience, for our clinic in Cumberland, RI! We are an interprofessional practice that utilizes child-centered and play-based approaches.

Our occupational therapy team is growing yet again. We are looking for a full time Occupational Therapist skilled in areas of feeding, oral motor skills, development, ocular and visual motor integration, sensory and emotional regulation, executive functioning, fine and gross motor coordination, adaptive techniques and technologies, as well as independent living skills. Occupational therapists are expected to carry caseloads while being skilled in evaluation techniques and tools. One year of pediatric experience is required however mentorship is available.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited, approved Occupational Therapy program.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in pediatrics.
  • Preferred certification in evidence-based feeding therapy program.
  • Preferred experience with pediatric feeding.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in RI. Must comply with all RI requirements for continuing education.
  • Certified Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) by the National Board in Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Valid National Provider Identifier number (NPI)
  • Must understand insurance and other provider guidelines and compliance.
  • Must know and follow the AOTA Code of Ethics and Standard of Practice.
  • Must have experience working with client’s in their home.
  • Must have experience working with older adults.
  • CPR certified.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Provides outstanding client care and appropriate treatment following established clinical procedures and techniques including:

a. Initial evaluations and establishes appropriate long- and short-term measurable goals with plan-of-care.

b. Performs appropriate and standardized assessments according to the client’s diagnosis and develop a plan of care accordingly (Sensory Profile, BOT, Beery VMI, Peabody, etc.).

c. Follows through with the established plan of care for each client.

d. Provides appropriate occupation-based, child-centered treatment following established procedures and techniques, and utilizes best and evidence-based practice.

e. Maintains the highest level of client confidentiality.

2. Provides documentation for all evaluations, treatments, home programs, re-evaluations, re-assessments and discharges in compliance with regulatory, licensing, payer, accrediting and company guidelines.

3. Maintains exceptional client, healthcare provider and staff relationships.

4. Demonstrates excellent time management skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

5. Supports in coordination of clients for evaluations and treatment in coordination with clients and other staff.

6. Practices OT consistent with the AOTA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

7. Supervises any COTA in accordance with industry standards.

8. Maintains professional license, and malpractice/general liability insurance and provides current copy to owner each year.

9. Maintains up to date techniques and trends in occupational therapy.

10. Reports all client related issues to supervisory (Senior Team Lead, Clinical Director).

11. Ensures that all equipment is maintained and in proper working condition to ensure client safety.

12. Assists in tracking client information – return to Dr. dates, benefit information.

13. Maintains compliance under:

a. HIPAA

b. OSHA

c. Insurances

d. State and federal regulations

e. Any other

14. Attends and participate in all staff meetings and trainings.

15. Assists in the marketing of practice.

16. Works with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure quality assurance and client satisfaction.

17. Meets with the team members as necessary to discuss client care and other clinical issues including program development.

18. Specific tasks and other related duties as requested and/or assigned by the Senior Team Lead or Clinical Director.
