Position Overview:
As a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer, you'll be an integral part of our Heart Center team. Collaborating closely with pediatric critical care medicine physicians and hospitalists, you'll ensure that patients with intensive care needs receive the best care possible. - Expertise: You'll be part of a team led by four Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeons, supported by a pediatric VAD and ECMO team, with UNOS certification for heart transplants.
- Advanced Technology: Work with a variety of machines, including Philips IE 33 and GE, scanning complex hearts and those fresh from open heart surgery.
- Diverse Experience: You'll scan in-house patients in NICU, PICU, CVOR, Pedi Cath Labs, and travel to 7 outpatient clinics in the city where you'll collaborate closely with cardiologists.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiac Sonography Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Sonography Technology (preferred).
- License/Certification: Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, and one of the following: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS), or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
- Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Strong critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct echocardiogram tests on patients, ensuring technical quality and accurate documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service, escalate issues as needed, and assist with quality assurance on equipment.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, respond to emergencies, and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
