Job Description:
Broadcom's Global Board Engineering (GBE) within Global Operations is looking for a highly motivated PCB Layout Engineer to become a key contributing member of our team.
GBE designs board level PCIe, OCP, custom form factor adapters for Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Storage, and Video Encoding for a wide variety of market segments.
As PCB Layout Engineer you will:

• Take full responsibility for PCB layout design on complex, high density products taking into account tradeoffs of electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform PCB layout design, including part library footprint creation, component placement, constraint manager setup, high speed (100Gbps) manual routing, blind/buried vias, analog / power plane distribution, and manufacturing testability.
• Create, modify and maintain parts libraries based on component data sheets and drawings.
• Create manufacturing PCB release package including Gerber/ODB++, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and other design files for PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly.
• Follow design and review processes, checklist, and design rule checks (DRC).
• Work in team environment (local and remote sites) with engineers of all discipline to drive the optimal solution.
• Achieve high quality design for first time success.
• Effectively communicate in conversation, presentations and written documents.
• Multitask in a fast paced environment.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years PCB layout experience with knowledge of circuit design rules.
• BS degree or equivalent training in electrical, computer engineering related fields.
• Familiar with Cadence PCB design tools, Allegro PCB Editor (layout) and Design Entry HDL (schematic capture).
• PCB layout in analog, high speed digital, differential trace (SERDES) routing, and power design methodologies (manual and auto routing options).
• Running backend checks (i.e. Valor) and generate necessary files for release and fabrication of PCB.
• Familiar with manufacturability and testability of IPC standards and EMC requirements for best design practices.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $130,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
