Role: PCB Designer
Client: Defense-Aerospace
Pay Rate: $58-62/hr (W2, non-benefited)
Length: 1-year (w/ possible extension)
Location: McKinney, Texas
Must be a United States Citizen
Description:
- Develop basic data for design proposals
- Create preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes
- Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, material availability, and equipment
- Consider factors like interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements
- Coordinate with other engineering and manufacturing disciplines affected by circuit card development
- Design layouts of complex printed circuit assemblies
- Detail parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures
- Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning
- Identify design errors and omissions
- Journal daily work activities
- Communicate barriers to task completion and in-process changes affecting schedules in a timely manner
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years' experience designing the layout of printed circuit boards using Siemens (Mentor) Xpedition suite of tools
- Understanding of Printed Circuit Board fabrication
- Understanding of drafting principles
- Must be familiar with applicable industry (IPC) design and end product performance standards for circuit card assemblies and printed wiring boards including IPC-6012, IPC-2221, J-STD-001, IPC-7351
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge and document descriptions of technical solutions for CCA and PCB technology products.
- Ability to work in multiple discipline integrated product development team environments to successfully execute tasks and deliver high quality work products.
- The position requires multi-tasking to support several programs concurrently and will require local travel between sites and also some remote travel as required.
- Must have excellent communications skills
- Must have strong documentation habits, as it relates to reporting daily activity, hours worked, design changes worked, and other required reporting for this position
- Must have strong desire to learn and contribute to a team environment
- Microsoft Office tools i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio
