This position is primarily responsible for keeping the HR and Payroll records up to date with audit compliance. The HR/Payroll Generalist reports to the Program Operations Manager. Will be responsible for providing administrative support for the department, assisting with the hiring process, scheduling new employee orientations and training, and entering a high volume of employment records into our HR database.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

· Payroll generalist responsibilities include process payroll for hourly and salaried employees, provide assistance in entering and paying all wage garnishments, process property payroll transfer reports.

· Verify and reconcile time and attendance records, ensuring accuracy of hours worked. Track and update employee leave of absence.

· Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.

· Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

· Assist in the onboarding and offboarding processes, including conducting orientations and exit interviews.

· Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.

· Under the supervision of the Program Operations Manager, Training & Process Improvement Lead, assist in planning and implementation of employee and staff training, communications, and overall process improvement for employees and the payroll operations team.

· Conducts Pre-employment background check, acquires all paperwork from new hires to obtain complete compliance.

· Responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks including responding to employee email requests and updating information in the employee management system.

· Attends training given by funding sources or as required by the organization.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with senior managers, executive assistants and administrative professionals.

· Support daily HR related inquiries or requests.

· Coordinates and maintains timelines and information for performance evaluation process.

· Maintain and keep track of performance evaluations and request for leave forms.

· Perform periodic audits of HR files and records.

· Partner with management to resolve employee relation issues; provide coaching, counseling and guidance to management and staff; collaborate with legal counsel on issues as appropriate.

· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Managing internship program and periodically HR intern's evaluation process.

· Credit card purchase management and consolidate monthly statements.

· Managing Gas card, EZPASS, ezpass/parking tickets, and car documentation.

· Finance department mail logs and distribution.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Humanities, Psychology, Human Services, HR Recruiter or related fields and 2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Human Resources policies.
  • Attention to detail
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Outstanding communication skills for working with operations staff. Knowledge of ADP.
